Melancholy Sisters

Though my sisters are anything but melancholy, I loved this moment for embodying a feeling. The colors in the sky, the blowing hair ... an arrestingly beautiful moment. I did the painting digitally. Photo credit goes to my bro, Joel Waltermyer.

Portraits

I'm taking to this portrait thing. I took a photo of Joel at Cape May a few summers back. It captures him pretty well, I think. Were I to give it a title, Intensity would be it, or something like that . Stay tuned for more of these to come. Thanks Joel for the permission to post this.

Biker Sketch

I just got a new toy, the Intuos4 digital drawing tablet by Wacom. I used it for this painting this evening.

Carnegie Show

I want to let everyone know that I will have a show at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History on October 16th and 17th. The opening will be the 16th, a Saturday and the show will be up through the weekend and possibly longer. Though I don't yet know the exact time, I expect it to be a 5 or 5:30 opening with drinks and food provided.

Here is a link to the pamphlet for the show:

Has it been a month?

Here are some projects from recently. The dog was a private pet commission that I just finished. Her name is Lucy. Isn't she cute?

And the other is my current project for Carnegie. It's another large painting, this one for wetland conservation in Pennsylvania. That's an American Bittern and I'll be adding a Redwing Blackbird and a mosquito of some kind.
